# Build a Lesson With Blocks

Assemble a lesson from text, media, and interactive blocks so members do something rather than only watch.

## Open the Lesson Editor

1. In the sidebar, select **Content**.
2. Open the course, then the lesson.
3. Select **Open lesson editor**.

An empty lesson opens with a text block already in place and the cursor in it, so you can start typing straight away rather than picking a block first.

## Add a Block

1. Hover the block you want to add after and select the **+** button on it. Every block carries one, so you insert at the point you're reading rather than at the end.
2. Search the block list, or type a name into **Search blocks…**.
3. Pick a block. It's added at that position, and you edit it in place.

Build in the order a member reads: set up the idea in text, show it in video, then ask them to act.

## Blocks You Can Use

**Content**

* **Text** — writing, headings, and lists.
* **Image**, **Video**, **Audio** — media you upload. Each row shows **Uploaded** once it's stored.
* **File** — a document members download.
* **YouTube** — a video hosted on YouTube.

**Interaction**

* **Question** — one or more questions members answer in the lesson.
* **Opinion scale** — a 1-to-5 rating with your own labels at each end.
* **Button** — sends members to a link you choose.
* **Timer** — members see a countdown.
* **Calendly** — booking, embedded in the lesson.
* **Typeform** — a form, embedded in the lesson.

A block labeled **Legacy block** came from an older editor. It keeps working in your app; rebuild it with the blocks above when you next touch that lesson.

## Ask Members a Question

1. Add a **Question** block.
2. Select **Edit questions**.
3. Give the block a **Title** — "Questions" works, or something specific to the lesson.
4. Write each question, and add helper text under it when the question needs framing.
5. Save. Members answer inline as they work through the lesson.

For a rating instead of an answer, add **Opinion scale**, set the **Question**, then set **Label for 1** and **Label for 5** — for example "Not likely" and "Very likely".

## Add a Button or an Embed

1. Add a **Button** block and select it to edit.
2. Set the **Label** — keep it short and concrete, like "Book a call".
3. Paste the **Link**.
4. Choose a **Style**, **Alignment**, and **Size** so it sits properly in the lesson.

**Calendly** and **Typeform** blocks work the same way: add the block, paste the **Link**, and the booking or form renders inside the lesson.

## Fix a Mistake

Select **Undo** to reverse your last change in the editor. Close the editor when you're done — the lesson keeps the structure you left it in.
