# Prepare Your App for the Stores

Write your store listing and add the artwork Apple and Google need, before you start either submission.

> **App Store & Play** is available on certain plans and app types. If you don't see it in your sidebar, please check our pricing page for more information.

## Write Your Listing

In the sidebar, select **App Store & Play**, then open your store listing.

1. **App name** — what clients see under the icon. Short enough not to be cut off.
2. **App subtitle** — a one-line summary of your app.
3. **App description** — describe your business and what clients use your app for.
4. **Category** — choose the one your clients would browse.
5. **Keywords** — comma-separated search terms your clients would type. Use their words, not your product names.

Write the description for someone deciding whether to download, not for someone who already uses it. The first two lines are what most people read.

## Add Your Artwork

* **App icon** — JPG or PNG, 1024×1024 or larger.
* **Feature graphic** — JPG or PNG, 1024×500 or larger. Google shows this above your listing.
* **Background color** and **Caption color** — used on generated store imagery.

Check your icon at small sizes before you settle on it. Detail that reads well at 1024px often turns to mush on a home screen.

## Add Screenshots

Screenshots do more selling than the description. Submit custom ones where you can, and lead with the screen that shows what your app is for.

## Read Your Submission Status

Each platform reports one of these:

| Status | What it means |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Not submitted** | Nothing sent yet. |
| **Waiting for setup** | Something is still needed from you — usually a developer account or a key. |
| **Building** | Your app is being built for submission. |
| **Submitted** | Sent to the store. |
| **In review** | Apple or Google is reviewing it. |
| **Live** | Available for download. |
| **Action required** | Blocked, and waiting on you. Start here. |

**Action required** is the only one that needs you immediately. **In review** is a waiting game — review times are set by Apple and Google, not by us.
