# Submit Your Android App

Connect your Google Play developer account, upload your app, and send it for review.

## Get Your Google Play Developer Account

Set up a Google Play developer account in your own name or your company's, on Google's website. Google verifies new developers, so start this early rather than on launch week.

## Connect Your Google Account

1. In the sidebar, select **App Store & Play**, then the Android journey.
2. Follow **Connect your Google account**.
3. Provide the **Service account email** the wizard asks for.

Studio checks your keys with Google as you connect, so a wrong value fails immediately rather than at submission. If you see "We couldn't reach Google", the connection didn't complete — retry before moving on, because the upload step depends on it.

## Upload Your App

1. Complete your listing first — see [Prepare Your App for the Stores](/help/put-your-app-in-the-stores/prepare-your-app-for-the-stores.md).
2. Start the upload.
3. Studio checks your upload with Google before submitting, which catches problems earlier than a rejection would.

When it goes through, you'll see that your app is on its way to Google's review.

## Track the Review

The status panel moves through **Building**, **Submitted**, and **In review** to **Live**.

**Action required** means Google is waiting on you, and the panel names what for. Google's requirements change over time — permissions declarations, health and fitness policies, age ratings — so treat the message in the panel as current rather than working from an older checklist.
