# Track Your App Through Review

Read the status Apple or Google is showing, know which ones need you, and know when a change means resubmitting.

## Where to Check

Studio shows the submission status in **App Store & Play** — see [Prepare Your App for the Stores](/help/put-your-app-in-the-stores/prepare-your-app-for-the-stores.md). The stores show more detail:

* Apple: **My Apps** in [App Store Connect](https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/).
* Google: your app in the Play Console, under its name and package name.

Apple color-codes each status: red means you must act before the app can be published, yellow means a process is still running on your side or Apple's, green means the app is ready for sale.

## Apple Statuses

| Status | What it means |
| ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Prepare for Submission** | The app record exists in App Store Connect and information is still being prepared. |
| **Ready for Review** | All required metadata is in, and submission is intended but hasn't happened yet. |
| **Waiting for Review** | Apple has your submission but hasn't started reviewing. |
| **In Review** | App Review is looking at it. The submission can still be canceled. |
| **App Live** or **Ready for Sale** | It's on the App Store. |

While you're waiting for review you can edit some app information, delete app previews, and remove the build from review. You **cannot** upload or edit screenshots or app previews.

## Apple Statuses That Need You

| Status | What to do |
| ----------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Rejected** (shows as **Action required** in Studio) | App Review didn't accept the app. Anyone on your Apple account with the Admin, App Manager, or Developer role is notified. See [Resolve an Apple Rejection](/help/put-your-app-in-the-stores/resolve-an-apple-rejection.md). |
| **Metadata Rejected** | Your metadata wasn't accepted. Read the message, edit the metadata, and reply to App Review. |
| **Invalid Binary** | The build doesn't meet current requirements. A new build has to be uploaded. |
| **Pending Agreement** | The app is ready, but your agreements aren't in effect. The Account Holder accepts the latest ones in Agreements, Tax, and Banking. |
| **Pending Developer Release** | Approved, and waiting for you to release it. |
| **Removed from Sale** | The app is no longer on the App Store. |
| **Pending App Transfer** | A transfer has started and hasn't been accepted. Only pricing can change until it completes. |

**Pending Agreement** is the one that catches people out: the app passed review and still isn't for sale, because a tax or banking agreement is unsigned.

## Google Review

Google review usually takes several days. Some developer accounts get a more thorough review, and in exceptional cases that runs to **seven days or longer** — so don't plan a launch around a same-week approval.

If it comes back rejected, see [Resolve a Google Rejection](/help/put-your-app-in-the-stores/resolve-a-google-rejection.md).

## When a Change Means Resubmitting

Most small updates reach clients on their own. Adding or updating lessons in a published course happens automatically — no submission needed.

Bigger changes need a new submission:

* Adding a pricing plan, or changing a price
* Updating your screenshots or logo
* Changing app details that the store shows

The rule of thumb: anything that doesn't update automatically in your app requires resubmission.
