## Send a Notification

1. In the sidebar, select **Notifications**.
2. Enter a **Title** — for example, "New live session this Thursday".
3. Write the **Message** clients will see.
4. Select **Send notification**.

It goes to your clients as a push notification on their device. There is no scheduling and no undo, so read it once more before you send.

## Write Something Worth Opening

A push notification interrupts someone. Earn it.

1. Put the specific thing in the title — a date, a name, a number. "New live session this Thursday" beats "Exciting news".
2. Use the message for what they should do next, not for more detail about the news.
3. Send one when something has actually changed for them. Clients turn notifications off after two that didn't matter, and you can't turn them back on for them.

## Choose What Your Clients Get

The same area controls which automatic notifications your clients receive:

* **Direct messages** — tell clients when they get a new message.
* **Replies to comments** — let clients know when someone replies to their comment.
* **Channel mentions** — alert clients when a channel post mentions them.
* **Direct mentions** — alert clients when someone mentions them directly.
* **App reminders** — nudge clients to come back and keep their momentum.

Leave the mention and reply notifications on: they bring people back to a conversation that's already about them. Reminders are the one to be careful with, because they arrive whether or not anything happened.
